IMMEDIATE YES! Teresa and staff make it a joy. We had a renovated unit, which was beautiful. A lot of people assume the “age” of the complex lends itself to be dated inside of the units- not at all true. We had a 1 bedroom, then leased again for a 2 bedroom- BOTH units were the best! Everyone wants a safe, quiet, and respectful community and with the office and maintenance team keeping a pulse on the property, that’s exactly what you get! IT’S BEEN AROUND FOR AS LONG AS IT HAS *without changing hands* FOR A REASON! We hate we had to leave. It’s incredibly difficult to find apartments/rentals in and around Tuscaloosa because it is flooded with students who pack properties and drive up rent.This property is 10 minutes or less to Midtown and Downtown. Essex Square Apartments truly has been a blessing to me during my time in T Town .Teresa and the entire staff do a wonderful job caring for the tenants and the community there. They were always very quick to handle any situation that arose and they work very hard to make sure that every tenant feels at home. The apartment complex always felt safe and was always maintained very well.

The property manager, Teresa, truly cares about keeping Essex Square safe and clean for all residents. For example, we are kept informed about what goes on in our community. If there are storms coming, for our safty, the manager sends out notifications as to where our closest storm shelters are. Maintenence response immediately and you can trust them to complete your requests in a timely manner. The list goes on and on. And, I could not have a better group of people for neighbors. We watch out for each other.

This was my first apartment and I had a wonderful experience. Teresa is very kind and understanding and the maintenence man is super kind as well. If you are a graduate student going to UA, this place is for you. It is quiet and has a nice outdoor area to study or read a book. I am sad I had to go, but, if I was to return—I would return here.

I have lived in this apartment for almost six years, and I really love it. During my first year at UA, I lived in a student apartment near the Strip, but I had so many issues there (noise, safety, poor management, etc.). After about 10 months, I moved here, and I've stayed ever since. If you’ve looked for apartments in Tuscaloosa, you probably know that real gated communities with proper security are hard to find. Some places call themselves "gated," but in reality, they aren’t. This apartment is different. Since it's a little farther from campus, there are no drunk students causing problems, which is a big plus.
