Essex Commons Apartments

Just renewed my lease recently and I’d say i have spent a good 3 years here, building is kept well. Neighborhood is pricy but makes it up with the amazing view of Manhattan. The management is friendly and staff is great, no complaints so far.

I had a few good years here, but my upstairs neighbors were the worst. Ridiculously loud and did nothing to change after multiple conversation about this subject. Management would not let me change units before lease is up, even though there are available units in the building. For those interested in moving into this building, ask about the neighbors and pay attention to the sound when you visit. Other notes from living in there: 1) Even though my units had two bathrooms, it was not possible to shower in both bathrooms at the same time. Our boiler could not support it. 2) Heat insolatiom is not great. Expect high utility bills. 3) The building staff are wonderful people.

Lived here for 3 years. It is just amazing on how the charm of this is not shadowed by the high rises beside it. All credit goes to the super who is such a dedicated and a hard working guy. The leasing office is so professional and friendly at the same time. Very prompt maintenance and the recent upgrades make it even more attractive.

Lovely place to stay. We have rented a 2 bed 2 bath apartment for $2895. The apartment is a snug little place with a lovely view of the riverfront. There is a washer-dryer in the apartment and a small gym facility downstairs. Overall, a very good experience staying here.

Great building. I moved out of there recently because of work. Everyone working there were professional and very helpful. Close to different restaurants and a very nice neighborhood. If I ever move back to this area, I would move back to this building.
