Elán The Plaza Apartments

We have lived in multiple Elan communities for about 3-4 years now and have loved our experiences. We moved away for a bit and were in a time crunch to get a new place and Mary Kathryn and Febe worked around the clock to get a place secured for us so that we could move in quickly and also gave us so many options to choose from so that we could make the best decision for us personally. Mary Kathryn is so incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to apartment living/laws and has always helped us when we have needed it. We love living at the plaza and have met so many kind neighbors and love the clean community!

Apartment #6 in this location is a pure lemon. When i lived there in 2023 the apartment never got below 75 degrees due to a pad leak under the kitchen and bathroom. I eventually found a jet of steam coming through the floor of my bedroom, something that happened 24/7 the entire year I lived there. Further, during rainstorms the apartment flooded. It had clearly happened several times before, easy to see that repairs had been made several times before once you knew what to look for. The manager, Mary Kathryn MacRae, was worse than useless. Never once addressed the problems, constantly gaslighting and talking around problems. They did not return my damage deposit and I am currently preparing to sue them. Do yourself a favor and do not do business with Elan. .

Good luck to anyone who lives here. Never fixed anything we requested, blamed us for the rat causing damage to the carpet. And for fun they will take your deposit even though we have shown them how they are illegally withholding it to replace the carpet. The manager of the complex lives there and has completely run everyone out of the apartments. We lived here for just over a year and consistently, emails were sent about anything and everything. You essentially have to live as though you are in her house. No music or loitering in the courtyard. No drinks. No loud anything. Again good luck to anyone who decides to live here.

Lived here about a month, and I have to say it is quite amazing. Apartments are way nicer than most in OB, management is responsive and quick to fix anything that goes wrong, and the cost is reasonable. Neighbors are considerate and nice. Love this place!

I called and set up a viewing appointment. when the time of the appointment came around, nobody was there to meet me. I waited outside for 30 minutes, called 10+ times and was never able to get through. This place is a scam.
