Elms at the Refuge

We stayed here temporarily, visiting the residence frequently from another state for more than a year, likely among the first tenants of the complex. There is not much to dislike in a brand-new complex. The staff are respectful and helpful. The complex offers a public pool and gym, which are pretty decent. Perhaps the most notable factor for us was its proximity to the Patuxent Wildlife Refuge, which was our favorite weekend hiking destination. Unfortunately, the proximity to nature comes with the disadvantage of being far from other amenities, such as grocery stores. Nevertheless, places like Whole Foods are at a reasonable 20-30 minute driving distance from the Elms. An issue that was unfortunately extremely annoying to us was the smell of neighbor tenants smoking all sorts of things and

I have been living here for almost a year now, It’s a brand new community that’s top~tier if you’re in the market for luxury living in Laurel MD, and my experience has been nothing but positive. I won’t lie, maintenance has been quick and friendly, the leasing staff is easy to reach and super helpful, and the apartments itself are really really nice. The neighborhood also is very quiet, nice and clean it’s giving scenery. Let me stop here for now!! THANKS.

Hello everyone, I have lived at this complex for about a year now. The staff has been nothing but helpful and respectful. I feel that they go above and beyond compared to any other complex I have lived in. To start when I applied to move here I had negative days to find an apartment because the one I thought I was moving into(at another complex) was deemed unlivable right when our uhaul pulled up…. Instant stress kicked in…..we had no home and that was not planned. Elm at the refuge office staff listened to our situation and got us an apartment that is beautiful in less than 24hrs!! Now I see people in the reviews complaining about thin walls. I live in an exterior building so I can only speak for my experience. I have no issues with my neighbors. Do I hear random bangs or booms? Sure when

I had an amazing touring experience with Kandice at Elms at The Refuge. From the moment we met, she was warm, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about the community. She took her time walking me through the property, answered every question thoroughly, and made sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout the entire tour. Kandice genuinely cares about what residents are looking for, and it truly shows in how she presents the community. I’m looking forward to completing the application and would highly recommend touring with Kandice if you’re considering Elms at The Refuge.

Although I am not a resident, I am extremely disappointed with my experience here. The buildings look lovely, and the community seems welcoming... however, this morning (11/22/2025) I was towed from their lot. I was briefly visiting to provide babysitting services and was not aware what their towing policies were. Considering the parking lot was mostly empty and I didn't see any "Reserved" signage I parked in the back row of the 3201 complexes. The signage for towing policies is actually to the left of the driveway when you're turning in, extremely small and hung on a lamppost pretty high up; incredibly easy to miss if you're driving in dark and rainy weather as was I. I find it baffling that they even found issue with my presence considering: A) I am not a frequently recurring guest, B) I
