Elm Gardens

Super affordable for the area and proximity to the metro and downtown Tacoma Park. Loved being able to walk to so many things. Most Utilities were included, I think I only payed power, but not gas for heat or cooking. Lived here for 4 years and they never raised the rent. They have parking for an added fee, which was great for me. Though my car did get broken into twice, but that's not the fault of management. Living in big cities just sucks. Don't do it. Some of the units have porches. Mine did not, but you really don't get any view from the porches anyway, just looking at your neighbors. If you are working class, this place is a great deal.

The units are basic and are in desperate need of renovations. You get what you pay for. People are allowed to smoke all sorts of things in the units without repercussion. My family and I don't like smelling cigarettes or other things in our unit, so we're leaving. This was not disclosed to us when we moved in, and other tenants were pretty surprise to find this out as well. There are communal washers and dryers, which break down ALL the time. Noise is limited, but the smell is enough to do anyone who has asthma in. We'll be leaving soon.
