Eastwood Homes at Honeycutt Landing

Model home was absolutely beautiful. Lady in the sales office had the "these houses sell themselves attitude" and didn't even come out of her air conditioned office to ask us any questions or anything. She said she wasn't the normal one there though but we had to literally search her down (after walking the model home no less) only to be told they weren't building custom homes anymore. That they were being sold as is, and we had to bid. We were told we could walk a few homes being built, she was kind enough to show us on the map on her flat screen, again never leaving her air conditioned office. The homes being built were a disaster. They didn't cover any of the bathtubs while other work was being done, and there was so much debris, I can't imagine how that would be safe for the plumb

The purchasing processes was great. No pressure, answers all questions within 24 hours from pre sale to build. However, after you close on the house, watch out. Customer service and support disappears. Your house comes with a warranty but when you try to make claims against that warranty, you can't get anyone to respond to you let alone get someone to come work on your house. Visit the neighborhood and talk with the neighbors that have lived through an Eastwood build for a year to know what you are really getting. Also, watch out for their trick of installing smaller sized septic systems than you need. You'll build a 4 bedroom home with them only to find out when you try to resell it, that the system is too small to be listed as a 4 bedroom. As a result, you can't list it as a 4 be

This is a really nice subdivision, beautifully maintained homes and common areas.. So fast forward 10 months and we have now had to have 2 foundation repairs as a result of poor planning, Eastwood says the damage was cosmetic, funny after we had the foundation fixed the cosmetic damage disappeared. The floor plan is Great, the workmanship is shoddy to say the least we have spent a bunch of money just to keep our house from crumbling. If you notice doors not closing properly, moldings pulling away from the ceiling nail pops uneven floors your counter tops pulling away from the back splash you need to get your home checked. My wife and I just moved to Honeycutt Landing a few weeks ago and love it! The neighborhood is beautiful, the neighbors are great and the builder is quality. Lydia, the on-site Agent is awesome to work with. Instead, of her trying to continue selling you and pressuring you...she partners with her buyers. She a great guide and has a lot of knowledge about her product. Overall, if I could give 6 stars, I would! Great experience here.

They will tell you that their houses are built with care, but that is an absolute lie! They are built to the minimum standard with the cheapest contractors they can find. My "hardwood" floor started chipping and separating just a few weeks after moving in. After arguing with them, they finally sent someone out. They blamed my dog which I didn't even have at the time the floors first started deteriorating. Their are two rows of flooring that have separated across the entire house.
