This is Howe we arrived to our new home . Fruit flies everywhere. Poop on the floor. Trash with diapers in it. Left over furniture . All broken blinds. It’s been over a week since moving in and so far only a cleaner has come. We have major safety issues like broken windows. They have no sense of urgency. We paid a $2,600 deposit . You would think this place would be ready to go at move in. They haven’t issued a credit for the days we couldn’t stay there and have yet to send someone out. This has been the most stressful move I’ve ever been involved in. They just take your money and then leave you hanging . No work order to them is an emergency. It has been complete hell so far and we’re only a week in.

I am filing a complaint against Darwin Homes for failure to maintain a habitable rental property, repeated lease violations, improper billing, and an excessive and retaliatory move-out charge. I originally rented my home through Renu Property Management. During my tenancy, the property was taken over by Darwin Homes while there were already numerous unresolved maintenance issues. Darwin Homes failed to correct these issues and allowed conditions to worsen. When the takeover occurred, I mailed my rent to Renu because I was not properly notified of the change. It took several weeks for my rent to be returned so I could resend it to Darwin Homes. My rent was $1,650, which Darwin Homes agreed to honor for the remaining lease term. Everyone I'm letting you know to stay away from these people! Don't rent with them because when it's time for you to move out even if you do everything perfect they are going to apply charges for things that they should be responsible for. We were charged for the garage light flickering which was their original light! Even to change the light bulbs that we left working they charged us because they would like to change them. Our walls were in perfect condition and they charged us because they have to repaint. We were also charged to fix garage door which we never had a problem with the garage whilst living there. We lived at the property for 2 years and have also kept a clean house but we were still charged for excessive wear and tear! Stay away from them! They are a bunch of thieves! Sta

Would give 0 stars if it was an option. They bought out our home halfway through our lease, leaving my roommates and I with no way to log into our portal to pay rent or submit maintenance requests. Once we got access, we were told they lost a ton of documents in the transfer. The last couple months we submitted multiple maintenance requests, all of which were not completed. On the week of move out, we were informed they would place a lockbox on our front door to place the key in, but they placed it super early and in a way that we could not even open or close our front door properly. We also could not access the lockbox when we moved out because they never provided a code to it, as they stated they would. When I tell you I wish I would've listened to these reviews. If you are on the fence about renting from this company, DON'T. Run Away baby cause they're gonna take your money and they aren't ever gonna answer your maintenance requests. I pay over 2000 a month for a house that didn't have AC almost the entire month of June, still doesn't have a working dishwasher and has an active water leak into our basement. The supervisors Will hang up on you. Do not look past these reviews. This company SUCKS.
