Connecticut Plaza Apartments

I have been living here for almost 3 years. I want to post a special shout out to our maintenance team for their efforts in snow removal and making the sidewalks/driveway safe for the tenants. The worked very diligently on Saturday and Sunday and deserve to be acknowledged. I that them for their work as a team.

New management doesn't answer phone calls or emails. Almost never present in-person, never follow up if you manage to catch them. Maintenance requests are handled unprofessionally, if at all. Some tenants are now reporting problems with mice in the tenant mailing list. Don't live here.

I do NOT recommend applying to this apartment building. My roommate and I applied for a unit that was available immediately almost two weeks ago and what we got was radio silence...We sent multiple emails to push the process forward and we completed every form as soon as we received it. They have not pushed anything forward, even after multiple requests. This is a terrible sign overall because places should be very responsive if they want renters to sign a lease. Save yourself the $50 application fee and find another place.

By far the worst place I've been in since moving to DC. - The day I got my keys and signed my lease I was (conveniently) told that there was a roach problem in the complex and that they we're going to do a fumigation of the place. - After about 3 months, I starting seeing roaches on-and-off. Thought I was out of the woods. Then about 10 months in, the mice started coming - Initially was told that there was NO WAY that the place would ever have mice. Then I actually saw my first one ... and then several more ... Management did little-to-nothing to resolve the problem. When I asked how long they thought this was going to to take to resolve they said they "really didn't know because their contractor was responsible for it" .... no accountability whatsoever. I would not recommend applying to (let alone living at) Connecticut Plaza. The management (which is apparently new management) appears totally disorganized and has been extremely difficult to communicate with. My husband and I applied for a unit this fall. First, we signed paperwork which incorrectly listed the income requirement, which caused us to initially be denied for the apartment. No explanation was given on the discrepancy between the listed requirement (2.5x) and the one given when we were denied (3x). We were told by one leasing agent that we would be receiving a welcome letter then were denied by a different leasing agent the next day. So then, we added a guarantor to our application. Allegedly there was a software issue and we were told the credit check couldn't process. This
