Congress West Apartments

Nice apartments, exactly what you would expect, nothing too fancy but very clean. When I first moved in my apartment had brand new carpet. The only issue was a broken dishwasher which was replaced in about a week. Erin the building manager and Robert in charge of maintenance are very friendly and helpful. The building has an onsite parking garage for an additional fee and an uncovered lot that's always full. Some apartments have a balcony. Street parking near the building isn't terrible. Not sure how these places operate from the rental side (I’m sure they’re not bad as erin from the main office is very helpful, I think she just has limited/poor resources). However, from an ownership side I would recommend to stay as far away from this place as you can. The HOA fees are insanely high and you get nothing to show from them. The building is falling apart, dirty, dated etc. when it’s time to “fix” these issues they just force a fee on the owners even though these astronomical HOA fees are supposed to cover maintenance. The person who runs this building (erins boss, Steve), does not seem to know what he’s doing or is extremely behind on the times of management. Very poor experience so far.
