Concordia On the Lake

I am a current resident at Concordia on the Lake. A year ago I would have given this facility a 5-star rating. There was a supportive and caring staff who knew the residents and went above and beyond in their service to us. We had holiday celebrations, numerous off-campus outings to concerts, plays, and other events, and good communication channels. The old executive director, whom everyone loved, was fired last December, and most of the staff either quit or were fired when a new executive director took over in February. Since then, we have seen a steady decline in communications, services, and activities. We no longer have holiday celebrations (or decorations) and very few off-campus events. The Events Center is no longer available for personal gatherings, the guest suite was taken over

My husband and I moved "down the hill" from Evergreen four months ago and love living at Concordia. It was a big move/change, but we are thankful that we didn't wait too long to do it. We love the many events and opportunities for getting together and meeting other residents. We love our open floor plan, high ceilings, and beautifully maintained campus. Our apartment was meticulously painted in neutral colors, stainless steel appliances and floors were immaculate, and we have a secure, quiet building! We hope to be able to avail ourselves of the great walking path around the lake soon. We are so thankful to the staff who made this move possible, and to the many residents who have welcomed us heartily. We are blessed to be here, and just wanted to give everyone a shout out! I moved into my apartment in May 2025 and I am very happy living here. Everyone is so nice, the activities are great, the building and grounds are well maintained, and the location is convenient.

Place is going down hill quickly with new management. They have targeted older renters who are ambulatory but they feel aren’t “ambulatory enough.” New management is on a DEI power drive. They’ve gone so far as to ban Christmas Trees this Christmas season saying they are exclusionary.

This was a great place till the new management came in. If any of the residents give constructive criticism the director will threaten them with eviction. They used to have trips to sporting events and to the theatre. Now all of that has been cancelled. If your looking a place to stay go ahead and pass by this place.
