My mother was charged for March rent after she had moved out in mid-February 2025, and the money was never returned. My mother had been a tenant at one of the Columbia Senior Residence properties for over five years. After being diagnosed with early dementia in May 2023, she gradually could no longer care for herself. I took her to live with me, but she refused to give up her apartment. So, while she lived with me, she continued to pay for an empty apartment until December 2024, when she gave notice that she would not renew her lease. In February 2025, I had moved her out and posted a glowing review of the support provided by the property manager and the on-site team. I did not realize at the time that it was only part of the transaction, and my experience on the other part was dramatical

I had to move my mother out of her unit after years as a resident because she could no longer live alone. I had approached the move with a level of stress because I had to pack and move my mother’s things out without any help. In my first meeting with the building manager (Diane Hill) was very professional, knowledgeable, but also gracious, helpful, and supportive. These qualities were also expressed by each member of her team, which made the process easier and eliminated any stress for me. Diane and her team understood the challenges involved in moving an older parent, which meant that they understood how to make the process easier and to be supportive in every interaction. I lived at this property for six years (November 2018 - November 2024)! Approximately 7 months later after moving, I have yet to receive my deposit. I notified management and was told she was following up with an email twice. Finally, I contacted the cooperate office to check the status. The young lady took all my information, to include my current address. After not receiving my refund, I called the cooperate office again to check the status. After the lady checked with accounting, I was told, "an invoice was never submitted for my refund." I have contacted the property twice since then to speak with Diane, to no avail. I'm very disappointed in how this matter is being handled. They wanted their rent on time, but can't refund your deposit in a timely matter. Now I will take the next avai

Columbia East Senior Residence is a very well maintained, well managed and beautiful place to live! Our Management Team is the best! Always helpful, always nice as well as professional! Our building is always clean and never noisy. Conveniently located for shopping and eating in the area! I especially like that I can leave my apt. and take an elevator to our parking garage, enter my vehicle before ~ being exposed to the weather! I love living here at Columbia East Senior Residence!
