Living at Cohabs was the best part of NYC for me! I've made some lifelong friendships and am constantly greeted with people who make living in the city feel like a home. Cohabs takes time and consideration to curate people of a similar vibe, and hosts events across the different houses to further curate friendships. While there are many shared common spaces, Cohabs hires weekly cleaners so the environment stays (mostly) tidy. The whole experience is like living in a hostel long term :) I stayed in Cohabs for over a year (leaving only because I am moving out of NY) as would recommend to anyone who enjoys hostel life. Thank you to the Cohabs team for facilitating such a lovely experience!

Avoid at all costs. Read this for your own sanity. Before anything else, let’s be crystal clear: these Google reviews are deeply misleading. Read them carefully and you’ll notice that most of these people haven’t even moved in yet. Cohabs aggressively pushes you to leave a review while you’re still being love-bombed during the registration process. I know, I did it myself. Now for the real picture: you will be at war with your landlord. This is the complete opposite of the “cocooning,” feel-good home they sell in their marketing. Any issue turns into a battle. You’ll have to constantly chase the NYC teams, coordinate with your housemates, unionize, escalate endlessly, and even email the CEO just to get basic things addressed. I absolutely loveee living in Cohabs! 💛 The community here is amazing and I’ve met so many kind and interesting people. The houses are super well-designed and make it easy to feel at home from day one. There’s always something going on in the house of across houses, events, dinners, and little get-togethers that really make nyc life special. Big shoutout to Bertille, our community manager, who does an incredible job bringing people together across houses! I honestly couldn’t imagine a better place to call home🌿

I had a generally good experience with the house and the team has been responsive overall. However, we’ve been dealing with an ongoing cockroach issue in the apartment for several months, and despite reporting it, it hasn’t been fully resolved yet. I really hope this can be addressed more quickly moving forward, as it affects daily comfort. I really have in mind leaving the house because I can’t live anymore with animals. Finally, we are all locked out at least once a week because of the app which is not working or either the doors themselves, we even had to sleep with all the doors opened once (not really safe in Harlem)

I’ve had such a great experience with Cohabs so far! Clarisse has been incredibly kind, attentive, and a great listener. She’s also a real problem-solver — always quick to find solutions and make things easier. The whole process of moving in has been very smooth and fast, which I really appreciate.
