Chesmar Homes at Water Oak at San Gabriel

My husband and I started our build with Chesmar February 2023 and closed September 2023. Overall our experience with our builder and sales associate was wonderful. However, there was one experience with the Company that we want to bring attention to in hopes that a future buyer (that is building) can avoid. - Picture 1, is the tile selection we made from the design center for our kitchen backsplash. - Picture 2, is the same tile installed as the kitchen backsplash (in a different pattern) in the model home. Note the kitchen backsplash in the model home was specifically pointed out that it is the tile we had selected; therefore, we expected the installed tile in our home to be of comparison. - Picture 3 was the tile installed in our home… Overall, the tile we selected from the design c

We moved in a bit over a year ago. For the most part everything has been good. Just getting past the one year inspections. We opened a few trivial tickets that I thought would be taken more seriously. The one I'll focus on first here is that, whenever the weather is ~ 40 or so, the exhaust fan in the owners suite bathroom drips from condensation. We were told that we take to long of showers, without them even knowing how long it takes for the condensation to collect and drip. The answer is: 11 minutes. That's about how long it takes to start dripping. So, I was told by Chesmar that the exhaust fan is installed to spec. I really don't care, it's not doing what it's supposed to be doing. Water Oak is a lovely serene community with beautiful Hill Country topography purched along the San Gabriel river. Top notch home builders. Tons of natural trees have been thoughtfully preserved thruout the community. A new amenity center coming soon.
