Cedar Lake Apartments

I have lived here for a year now and recently renewed my lease for an additional year. I am recently divorced and haven't lived in an apartment in over 20 years before this year, and I had no idea this is exactly what I needed. I love my apartment. It is priced fairly and the location is great. The maintenance here is phenomenal and is quick to respond when a request is submitted, which is so nice. It also seems that the maintenance crew genuinely work to keep the community looking nice and take pride in their work. The apartment sprays for bugs regularly and I have not had any issues with that. I recommend looking elsewhere when looking for an apartment in Norman. I moved into this apartment due to the monthly special, and it was a mistake. Upon moving in, I found out that the apartment was infested with cockroaches. Kari, the property manager, acted as if she had no idea. It took three months before I could put anything away in my apartment because of the roaches. My car was broken into overnight, and when I reached out to the property management, I was ignored and neglected. I recently moved out of state due to work, and now they are ignoring me regarding additional charges that were added to my account. I just signed a second year-long lease and I couldn't be happier. Kari in the office is so nice, knowledgeable, and available to help. The maintenance team is respectful, friendly, and requests are addressed promptly. They are sure to wave and give a greeting if you pass them in the complex. Pest control is regular and I have never had an issue with bugs. I think the apartments are priced fairly for the size. I appreciate that the complex is quiet and tucked away from the busy parts of town, but we are still within walking distance to grocery stores and bus stops. This is a great place to live and I look forward to living here for many more years.

I have lived here for almost 10 years. After the new management took over 6 or so years ago, it has been SOOOO much better. Our maintenance men are absolutely incredible. They are constantly out and about working, interacting with the tenants, and they are superb at making sure everything is up and running. The office manager is so kind and always helpful if any issues pop up. For the most part, it is very quiet here. We have a really nice turtle pond with a waterfall, a nice pool, a clubhouse, and they keep it very clean. I love living here.

My daughter lived here for over a year. She had several issues with her unit that were never addressed. When we helped move her out, I found black mold growing in her second bathroom that management knew about but never addressed. The doorknob on her laundry closet fell off and was never fixed. They tried to fix her front door, but installed it crooked so there were holes that let bugs in from the outside. The most upsetting is that her sliding glass doors did not lock. Management was aware and did nothing so she had no way to secure her apartment for months. Anyone could have walked right in at any time. We did break a lease and the fee was $750, which isn’t bad. However, when I asked when the fee was due, all that was said was as soon as possible. When we went to pay it less than a week
