Overpriced square footage. Will try everything to not fix something and if they do they are not happy to fix it. Make you feel like your inconveniencing them and are basically not worth their time. It reminds me of a old trick Caesar Palace does. They lure you in with curbside appeal and glamour then when you leave the casino and they have your money you leave and go out a plain back door. Had a subcontractor let it slip when he came to fix something that he hoped he was going to get paid . I felt bad for the guy. Here he is fixing a poor quality job in the first place that someone else did and he may not get paid. We have lots of issues with our house which Carothers May think is no big deal. Not sure what is going on but after the house got built and bought house I had a few things that needed to get fixed and they did. But ever since then haven’t been able to get help and I’m still under warranty. I emailed the warranty address. Called twice, then called the maintenance guy and was sent to voice mail. I would have given them 4 or 5 stars because I love my home and the customer service as my home was being built but afterwords it has sucked. Still waiting for help but have until June until my warranty is up. So going to keep trying!

Carothers Homes build beautiful homes, however, I have not been pleased with my purchase so far. I moved in May 2020 and have complained since moving in about various issues such as an apparent leak somewhere in the ground that has not been resolved that leaves a very saturated area in the lawn and is now starting to smell foul. I had a mirror in the master bedroom that had a small dent that I pointed out in the closing May 2020 and it still hasn't been replaced. At the closing I was not informed that my plot for whatever reason is divided into two sections, therefore, I get property taxes for two pieces of land when I am only sitting on a single lot. Carothers draws you in by building really pretty homes, but they use the same subcontractors that everybody else does, take short cuts and actually do really poor work. After they get your $300,000 they really care less about making you happy as a customer. If we had been able to do a walkthrough prior to closing I could have insisted on having certain things fixed in order to close. But since we closed from out of state and they have their money they have no desire to fix certain things and have basically said too bad. We heard great things about them, and were so excited to move into our house, but now we are just glad we are only going to live in it for 3 years. We have been in our Carothers home for over a year now and our experience has been pleasant. We haven't had any problems that weren't resolved or handled promptly.
