Canton Lofts

Poorly managed old repurposed warehouse turned overpriced lofts. No ramps, no front desk past 5pm, and extremely tight uncomfortable parking spaces. For the price not worth it in any way. Extremely involved older community of owners that micromanage every aspect of the building. Unruly staff members that are unliked by tenants which creates an uncomfortable living situation do not recommend.

Home for eight years now. I love the building and the people. The ignorant review about asbestos and air quality is total nonsense. It’s a dusty old prewar warehouse, so yes, one should not plan on making microchips here, but the idea of asbestos is wildly ignorant. The building was completely renovated (and remediated) in the late 90s. It’s a lovely place to live as long as you’re not a problem resident. I’ve been in downtown since the late 90s and this has been my favorite address to call home.

I rented here for almost a year and ended up exiting my lease early and leaving the building as soon as I could. Something is not right in this old furniture / textile factory. There is a strong sense of mercury or lead or asbestos lingering in the air, and people, including myself, do not look and feel well in here. On top of that, the bldg is woefully mismanaged by a rag tag condo board. I've talked to resident who bought a unit, only to sell a year later bc they were fed up with the air quality in the building, the constant and under-reported renovations which also pollute the building, and the mismanagement and misrepresentations by the condo board. I’ve lived here for three years and I love it. The location is fantastic and the view is wonderful. The only down side is DART thinks we don’t need service here.
