Cameron Court

I've lived here for 3+ years (on both the Cameron Court side & the Shelton side) and I want to continue living here as long as I can! Great location in downtown Raleigh, management and maintenance has improved and been great, and I love the community itself. The buildings are old and have their quirks, but that's what gives the place some charm. Any true issues I've had while here have been resolved by the leasing office/the maintenance crew with ease.

Cameron Court has some nice features and some drawbacks. The big windows and wood floors are charming and the location is good for my situation. However the building is old and so residing here can be a struggle. One of the problems is that the trash bins on Snow Ave are essentially community trash bins; everyone in the community uses them (not just Cameron Court residents). They regularly overflow and so the trucks are prevented from picking up trash because trash surrounds the bins. It can get really disgusting. There have been three different management companies inside two years here. The newest company has brought a fleshed out team with them. I lived at Cameron Court in an apartment with the Princeton floor plan for about 8 months from Oct. 2022-May 2023. I likely would’ve renewed my lease had I not taken an opportunity to move across the country. The apartments are beautiful, my dog loved sunbathing in the courtyard (photo included), and I loved the proximity to downtown and Hillsborough. The big main drawback for me was living on the first floor. Because the building is old, the floors are really squeaky. I could hear every move my upstairs neighbor made, including very late at night or at 4 or 5 am. I also got ants in my kitchen in the spring, though maintenance was quick to send someone and then I never saw them again. If I could give more stars I would. Cindy, Abby, and Jeremy have been incredible in the move in process. Their compassion, attention to detail, and diligence are a stark contrast to most property management companies I explored in Raleigh. The staff alone make this place excellent, but the pet friendly courtyard, beautiful apartments with original hardwood and large vintage windows, and the safe and wonderful neighborhood make this place a steal at the price!

Excellent maintenance services. The buildings are old, but classic and beautiful. Every time I've needed something done, their maintenance staff has been super fast to respond, even a broken toilet on a Saturday! Love the common courtyard, very relaxing and beautiful. An uncommon amenity in downtown.
