We have been homeowners of a rental home in Emerald Isle since 2005. Trying to preserve the integrity of a that home has been difficult from a distance until we found Mike Oehl of Brown and Curtis Home Services. He is professional, responsive, trustworthy and reliable. Mike cares about each and every one of his clients, and his personal attention to detail is second to none. We have been working with Mike from Brown and Curtis for the last 4 years that's we've owned our home on Emerald Isle. Unlike the majority of his clients (who just use their second homes exclusively) we rent our home through Home Away/VRBO. We have absolute peace of mind having Mike as our representative on the island. When issues arise, he is there taking a picture and explaining in detail what needs to be done. The crews that he trusts to work at our home have been wonderful. He is extremely knowledgeable about all facets of our home and is extremely professional and personable too. We have had so many guests sing Mike's praises. We are blessed to have him as our property manager.

Brown and Curtis has been managing our second home since 2007. Mike takes great pride in providing excellent services. We had a leak in a glass enclosed porch that we had been unable to find. We would either find the puddle or residue where the water had been but couldn't figure out how the water was getting in. When we were out of town Mike made a special trip over during a heavy rain to find the leak and subsequently had it repaired. We live a long distance away and so we have to ask Mike to take care of both small stuff and large and he never takes advantage. He seeks ways to provide the service in the most cost effective way. One of the biggest problems as an absentee owner is handling property related problems when you aren't around. Brown & Curtis has been wonderful. In addition to the twice per month visits that Mike is doing to our home, he assists with any repairs. Recently, we came down for a weekend and noticed spots on the ceiling. Mike had a roofer come by, they found some holes in the shingles, and they were repaired. If I had to do this on my own, it would either mean a trip down (90 miles), or trusting the roofer to come in my absence. Prior to starting this service, we had a lot of difficulty and worry maintaining our property. I strongly recommend them.
