Briar Manor Apartments

Location inviting - apartments need updated renovation - not just updates - appliances ratter low end - maintenance appealing - handy men - ? Training - overall owners deaf to current opportunity in updating and truly offering a unique living experience- 3 1/2 - low 4 star - if it wasn’t for location the rent is way to high for amenities.

Wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy. Rats, roaches and black mold (not to mention no hot water days for days on end) . And to rub salt in the wound when I said we weren’t renewing they gave me a patronizing ‘aww’. This place has made develop asthma but they don’t care. They even raised the rent. You have been warned. Do not trust the bots in this review section. I will leave some pictures of the mold that they will paint over for the new tenants

I have liked living at Briar Manor, I feel it's safe and the grounds are clean. With that being said, my opinion has changed. We have no hot water and this is day five. Technically, in NYS we are supposed to have hot water at all times. They shut it off do to a gas leak which is acceptable for a day or so. Well today is day 5, I spoke with the office and asked them if we would be compensated due to living with these conditions. I was advised no we wouldn't. So here we are day 5 of no hot water. This ridiculous.

I went my whole 7th grade school year without hot water. We didn’t complain, we had dignity. Sometimes you have to take cold showers, other times you get glued to the toilet, that’s life! They are (in good faith) trying to fix the problem, so what else can we ask for? Humans, for the previous what, like 10,000+ years survived and flourished without hot water, so I think we will be okay.

If you’re thinking about moving to Briar Manor and reading these reviews, you might be like me and thinking “oh well, there’s some bad reviews. But I bet it won’t be an issue for me”. I wish we had trusted the reviews rather than being thinking we would be the exception. By no means is this a terrible place to live. It’s in a nice area and the apartments are often being updated in between tenants. The maintenance staff is kind, albeit they take their time if it’s not an absolute emergency. There were plenty of times where my husband had to fix things around the building and our apartment because maintenance never showed up (bat evictions, fixing the security door, plumbing repairs, etc.). But overall they’re nice dudes and very responsive to emergency situations. All this being said, it’
