As first-time home buyers, we couldn't have asked for a better experience with Ray at Blue Owl Home Inspection. He was incredibly thorough with our historic home and took the time to explain every detail of the house and even how to execute small fixes ourselves. What I really appreciated was that he didn't just point things out, he explained why they mattered, and gave us clear advice on how to properly maintain our new home. The report came back shortly after our inspection with detailed photos and clear explanations covering everything we had discussed in person. Ray was professional, kind, and even shared an additional document with local recommendations tailored to us based on our conversations (like the best local pizza place!). Ray/Owner/Inspector was an easy going inspector who explained step by step his process of completion and asked if we had any specific areas/issues to look at in more detail. Allowed us to follow him when we wanted through inspection while relaying things he saw that were good, ok or needs work while taking photos. Inspection completed within estimated time. Preformed residential home inspection for purchase and mold testing - explained that process and when reports received. Reports completed and received within same day of inspection. Mold report came back within a day when expect for two days and comprehensive. Would work with Ray again.

Ray was incredible. We were making a big home purchase and needed to make sure we went into the purchase with our eyes open about potential issues, repairs, etc. Ray was so impressive: so thorough, took the time to help explain issues so we would understand how to properly take care of our home as well as document everything. ray was professional, super knowledgeable and a great value for our money. we interviewed 5 other inspectors and when spoke with Ray we knew instantly he was our guy. highly recommend

Avoid. Not thorough and took double the time of the usual inspector. Did not check the chimney clean outs to see that the removed fireplace was not sealed off from the bare studs of the living room. Did not note the massive cracks in garage foundation. Did not find mold behind freezer.
