I want to give a shout out to Miriam, who works with Colonial Manor. She went above and beyond for me when I switched complexes. The amount of work she put in to make everything happen before the end of the year was staggering and she herself truly made it possible! We had seemingly endless phone calls back and forth with each other over the course of two weeks and she never seemed irritated that I had to keep calling about one thing or the other. She was the example of patience, staying true to her word, and going to bat for her residents. Miriam has superhero status in my book, I am amazed at how she handled so many sticks in the fire to get it all done.

Birchwood Village, very disappointed these days. Lived here for 15 years, was month to month and income based when I moved in. Now they make you sign a weird 13 month lease. Place sold twice in past 3 years. Worst management by far. Rent has more than doubled with no improvements what's so ever for the cost increase. I see they are advertising rates for new apartments for triple what I was paying two years ago before they took over. All they have done with the open apartments is landlord special them by putting down snap together flooring and paint everything light gray. They bought multiple apartment complexes in town and now they dictate what the "market rate" is now. The new leases are generic and many items in it don't even apply to our buildings. We live at a Barrington residence called Allen Meadows. In spite of a lease stipulation barring German shepherds, our down stairs neighbor has one they leave alone every day that barks incessantly for 1 to 2 hours starting at 7:40 AM. We're retired, both in our 70s and the dog wakes us every day. Complaints to management are met with a shrug. The manager has some personal connection with the tenants and they content the dog is an "emotional support animal". The dog is only taken out to the bathroom and brought right back in. It's destroying the quality of life in this building.

Birchwood village: I have lived here since 2019. This is the worst company that has owned the property since I’ve been here. Astronomical rent increases for property that was originally section 8 and income based. They can barely check or maintain their records and emails, but somehow make it your fault. I really hope they can get it together, because I love the actual property. The bureaucrats just make it a nightmare. When I can get someone on the phone, the women in OUR actual office are actually really pleasant to deal with. It’s just the policies, and rent hikes, and missing paper trails (through no fault of the actual office staff) that’s horrendous.
