I cannot recommend John Bain enough. I'm in the process of purchasing my first house and John did a great job with his building inspection. Not only did he write an incredibly thorough report which included photographs documenting everything he saw but he also took the time when he was finished to meet with me personally and go over the photographs and explain them to me. I'm pretty familiar with houses and anything I wasn't familiar with he answered all my questions. Very nice guy and reasonable prices!

VERY HAPPY with the level of service John provided!!! He is highly experienced, honest, meticulous and very easy to work with... for our purchase he uncovered over 60 issues that would have cost us thousands of dollars to repair. He really took his time with us and provided a thorough explanation as well as a detailed report. We were fortunate that the seller agreed to take care of the vast majority of the items, but without John's help those hidden problems would have made our first few months in the new home a nightmare. I couldn't be happier with choosing John for my home inspection. The entire process, from scheduling to receiving the final report, was a pleasant experience. John was extremely thorough, polite, and took the time to answer my questions in detail. We used John for a new build in Georgetown and everything went fine, so we decided to use him again when we moved to Lexington. Long story short, he did not see that the gutters were clogged, even through he uses a drone to inspect the roof (he never got on the roof himself to see). Had a rainstorm while we were doing renovations and the gutters overflowed and caused thousands of dollars of damage in the basement. More recently have an HVAC company in to do duct work cleaning and they noticed what might be mold in the duct work upstairs, so he missed that as well. After the incident with the gutters I spoke with him and he said he felt bad and would come out to see the house, but he never did. I'm very disappointed in his service and would advise finding someone else.
