Artisan Square

Good place, but with a catch. Overall, the apartment itself was great and was a nice neighborhood. The community is quiet, while there’s a bunch of cool local restaurants and an easy commute to Madison. However, this place isn’t worth it. Between dealing with an incompetent and unprofessional manager and literally getting robbed from our security deposit, the apartment is stripped of its charm. My roommates and I cleaned our entire apartment to ensure it was spotless when we moved out, just to have half of our deposit taken for no rhyme or reason other than some phony cleaning charges. When it’s time to move out, make sure you spend a ton of time cleaning because they’ll literally rob you of your deposit for no reason. As a tenant for almost two years, I can say without reservation that this property is one of the most outstanding ones in Madison. Besides its nice location on the east side, the other tenants are respectful, friendly and most of all, quiet! The building is well-maintained and for the times that we've required assistance, they've been timely, professional and efficient! We will be pleased to consider Artisan Square our address for years to come!

I rented an apartment at Artisan Square for a little over a year (05/02/21 - 06/30/22). My experience there was quite pleasant. The neighborhood is nice and peaceful, the property is pretty well maintained and there's a decent price-to-quality ratio between my cost of rent and the amenities and quality of finishings and furnishings in the apartment. So, why 4 stars? Well, while few, a couple of things that I noticed or experienced in my unit made me give second thought to renewing my rental agreement. The unit that I rented ended up having a small boxelder bug centered around the back entrance to the apartment. They were somehow finding a way into my unit and settling onto my curtains to sunbathe.
