Be aware there is NO AC in the units, just for the halls. You can get a portable ac in through some applications but then you’d have to pay for your electricity. Our elders and vets deserve better.

I posted on Yelp as well and hope to give people a preview of what’s to come if they move in here. One of my big issues has been the way the security has treated me and my family over the 7 years my dad was there. He has now passed away. He paid his rent on time and was a good tenant. The apartment he lived in before Gold Star, which should be called Cold Star, complimented how clean he kept his apartment and returned his deposit. Not Cold Star. In fact, they not only kept his entire deposit, but have the nerve to charge extra. Despite doing several inspections, they are now charging for a door handle which passed before but now does not. For a retirement facility of exmilitary excellent place

I am torn in my review of this establishment because i visit here on a semi daily basis i have a good friend who lives here and i live a mile or so away. Its a delightfully tranquil place to reside and in general i would encourage any veteran and his or her immediate family to apply for residency. My problem is that the rule structure the management maintains over the population can be somewhat draconian. Ex: my friend is in his mid 60s and not that quick on his feet i was watching movies with him.late in the day and wanted to run home for a minute to feed my dogs. He gave me his gate key so that he would not have to get up and come let me in. I ran into one of the guards who had seen me on more than one occasion before this day.
