American Gardens Building

I’ve lived in this building for over a decade, and until recently, I would’ve given it five stars. The architecture is beautiful, the doormen are discreet, and the location is unbeatable. But ever since this neighbor moved in to the apartment beside mine, I’ve considered breaking my lease and fleeing the state. Let me be clear: This is no ordinary experience. I hear everything through the walls. I mean everything. Chainsaws at 2:00 AM. Who uses a chainsaw in an Upper West Side apartment? I’ve filed three noise complaints and nothing was ever done. Huey Lewis on repeat. Loud. Repetitive. Sometimes punctuated by screaming. Not metaphorical screaming. Actual screaming. A hideous scent. I don’t know what is going on in that apartment, but a very strong distinctive smell of decomposed

The interior and exterior are great, although there's no view of the park. Also, don't buy an apartment on the 11th floor, because some dude is always playing Huey Lewis.

Was sleeping then heard the roaring sound of a chainsaw in the halls.. didnt check it out since i was too fatigued..

Neighborhood is good here. Don't buy place on 11th floor. A lot of noise comes from there. There's a lot to write but I'm going to return videotapes.

I’ve got a couple issues with this place. I’m constantly using tape, for taping something. The place doesn’t have a tanning bed. And my colleague Paul Allen has a much better view from his apartment.
