Alton Plaza

I'm in love with this place! These apts are the perfect combination of vintage/retro and modern luxury. The views are pretty awesome and now that downtown Longview has been revived into a modern hipster-esq hub of coffer shops, breweries, boutiques, and bars/restaurants and all within walking distance, I'm not surprised there is a wait list to live here. Also, the building has private ,tenant only, access which is a plus for safety .

Could you please tell you tenants that park around the courthouse to only take up one parking spot!! There's 2-4 cars/trucks that every morning are double parked. We have to park farther away from the courthouse door because of this. I can post pictures if needed!! Thanks!! Update: I will continue to post pictures of every vehicle that double parks around the courthouse. There's employees who work at the courthouse in the sheriff's department 24/7 and maintenance who would enjoy parking closer to the entrance/exit also. Free to park before 8am but doesn't say to take up as many spots as you want. Update 1-29: That Toyota truck loves to double park and this way all day! No kind of courtesy for others needing to park.

Walked in today to finally lease the apartment I REALLY wanted but was told I had to make 2.5x of the 60% income restricted apartment. The apartment was $960. 960 is 60% of $1600. 2.5x960 is about $2400. I had on paper that I brought in $1600 a month after my tuition was taken out as a student. Well apparently I need 2.5 x the 960 now but once you do the math 60% of $2400 is $1,440 not $960. Very confusing.

My daughter and her boyfriend went to view and apply for a one bedroom apartment. It was recommended to them because they are just starting out and need something for low income renters until they can acquire better, higher paying jobs. The lady, TAMMY, who took them to see the apartment kept trying to push an $1,125 unit (with a dirty, scratched & dented fridge) on them that they clearly could not afford right now. They had already given her their total gross and net monthly income prior to the scheduled appointment. She was RUDE and unaccommodating! If the owners of the Alton Plaza are trying to rent apartments, you may have the WRONG person in charge of doing that for you.

I absolutely love living here. My views from every room are beautiful. Only one thing that would make me love it even more is if the building was kept clean! The entrance mats, floors and elevator are ALWAYS dirty. Cleaning crews should come more often and pay attention to detail cleaning , like the stainless steel in the elevator. This is an awesome historical building and I'm proud to say it's home to me.
