Alta Properties

I have been leasing a commercial office from Alta properties for about 5 years. I was in a smaller space and moved to a larger space. I own and operate a small property management company, so i consider my self a qualified person to critique and write a review. Since day one Tom and his staff have been attentive, accommodating, and pleasant to deal with. When i moved units, they were fair and willing to work with me. I do not have a single complaint. Any maintenance issues have always been dealt with in a fast and professional manner, and all of the properties i have seen managed by Alta appear to be clean and well managed. I leased a room through Alta properties near USC and the stay was one of the best experiences of my life. Thomas scrutinizes the applicants and let's only the best among them stay in the rooms. He is very friendly, prompt and accommodating. If there were any repairs required, Alta properties would send a handyman ASAP to fix the problem. They care more about the people and the experience you have living in the house rather than how much money they can make out of you. I would definitely recommend renting through Alta Properties. Also, ignore the outdated negative review!!

Alta Properties, contrary to the previous reviewer, maintains a high level of integrity, is consistently helpful, fair, honest, takes care of all rental business and related questions, and is fair in price. If you are a property owner and want to rent/lease units, they will screen prospective tenants, tell you what the going rates are in the area and for the unit size, and take care of any problems associated with the tenant/property and alert you when it is time to raise rent. They do not badger you with unimportant information but will answer any questions you pose.

Stay away from Alta Properties if you can. Here is the story: My wife and I had been renting one of their apartments in Gardena and we're frequently troubled by the mice problems in our place, they had sent pest control over 2 times but the place is still remain unsealed and these critters could still crawl in from the beneath level (laundry room / garages). This problem persisted for a few months and finally one time mices appeared in our bedroom which freaked us out and next day we explained to Alta about the issue and demand the move out immediately. Tom acted like he was very understandable towards the situation and VERBALLY agreed we can move out ASAP and will only charge us for what we stayed that month from our deposit which is $1300. I really don't quite understand the negative reviews. The Alta staff was very nice and friendly. They were very helpful in finding us just the right kind of condo for us up in Los Angeles. I highly recommend Alta.
