Westgate Apartments

Called in to schedule a tour and Ruth was rude and dismissive. Arrived to my tour and Ruth was annoyed that she had to actually do her job. Was trying to do everything she could to convince us NOT to tour the units. The apartments themselves seem pretty decent, especially for the price in Charlottesville. Unfortunately, the customer service ruined our experience and we decided not to live here.

I cannot believe this complex has not done anything to ensure the safety of their tenants. Occupants can't even get out of their front doors due to the ice. Yesterday a ma instance person was running a snow blower .... when could ice be blown off? If you are looking for a place to rent in Charlottesville ... do not even look at Westgate Apartments in Hydraulic Road.

The property management company has literally the worst customer service, everyone that works in the office is rude. They do the bare minimum required and harass residents over parking and petty fees. All they care about is money. If it weren’t for the location and maintenance team they would be out of business. Their landscaping team is terrible as well. Leaving the property looking messy and terrible most of the time. There are leaves and debris everywhere all year round and plants are unkempt.

Very responsive and helpful office team! The apartments are very spacious for having so many units and we’ve really enjoyed living here for the past year, just renewed! The amenities like the pool, gym and dog park are so nice. Close to all of the apartments. If you’re looking for a comfortable quiet place to live for awhile, Westgate is a good option.

Awful experience. We were very clear from the start that we were moving from NJ, but the leasing office never once told us they don’t accept out-of-state pay stubs until after we applied and paid $100 in fees. Their own qualifications say two months of pay stubs are fine, but apparently not if they’re from another state… which they never disclosed. The tour was uncomfortable too. The agent seemed rushed, short with us, and uninterested in answering questions. Honestly felt like they didn’t want us there from the beginning. Other apartments in Charlottesville had no problem with our NJ pay stubs, so this just feels shady. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere. Office staff was unhelpful, showed no accountability for this and avoided my follow up email. They could not provide where
