Western Plains Title and Escrow

Don't use them if you can!! We closed on a house in Logan, N.M. on July 3rd. Janie told us that the check wouldn't be ready until the afternoon or Monday. They should have issued a cashiers check they already had the money from the lender! Instead we didn't hear anything until Monday and we go down to pick up the check. The check was not a cashiers check and my bank put a hold on the money for 5 days. They should have issued a cashiers check but it was a company check. When my wife confronted them about it Janie said: "They were suppose to treat it like a cashiers check". Tell me of a bank that can look at a check and determine that its a cashiers check. I will never do business with them again!!! That's why I'm posting this so no one else gets shafted.

Thanks again for another smooth easy transaction. Pam and Yvonne are first class professionals and make the title search job seem effortless. They are thorough. Pam caught a 1995 lien on our property that had not been properly released, hunted down the third company that it was assigned to, and worked with that company to get the release of lien to properly insure the new owners title at no cost. This small hiccup barely registered, because Pam proactively took care of it, calmly kept everyone informed, and got title ready to close a couple days early. Highly Recommended!

If it were possible to give zero stars I would. I approached Pam back in August to sell a property. She did not tell me she had months and months of other work scheduled before mine. When she finally begins working on my property (4 months later) she finds a lien but by this time the buyer has grown tired of waiting and backs out of the deal. The lien from previous owner was cleared up within a couple of weeks but buyer had already decided to back out. If Pam had done her job we could have found this lien back in August, cleared it up right away, and closed the sale. Pam never took responsibility for the loss of this sale. Either poor customer service, incompetence, or both. I would definitely recommend going elsewhere.
