After living at West Village for 2.5 years, I’ve lost my patience. When I first toured, I was impressed with the location, amenities (especially the very large gym), and the reasonable cost for a one-bedroom apartment compared to other places downtown. Fiona, who no longer works there, was the most helpful apartment worker I’ve ever interacted with. My impression at first was positive; I even encouraged a friend to move to the complex which they later did. There was no reimbursement for a referral unlike many places. Living in the Moore Building is filled with surprises. Despite being built in 2015, it’s in disrepair. I first lived on the 5th floor and could hear every step of my upstairs neighbor. Fiona was generous to help me transfer units to the top floor to save my sanity. If you ar

We appreciate the diligence and expertise of the West Village maintenance crew and leasing office staff. They respond promptly and effectively to issues whenever they arise. Their properties are peaceful and convenient to NCCU via 147, Duke via Main Street, and UNC through 15-501. New restaurants continue to develop as the city attracts entrepreneurs who recognize Durham’s value. I enjoy living two blocks from Jeni’s more than anything. Both bathrooms in our 2-bedroom are spacious. (See the video of the small bathroom.) The kitchen island is large without being in the way. My roommate has the large bedroom, but they provide roughly the same living space. The gym offers a variety of workout options and never feels packed. The Y is nearby for anyone who seeks a sauna or steam room. The co

We’ve been living here for a month, and our experience has been great. The community is welcoming, and the staff, especially Naomi Bissell, is excellent. She’s incredibly helpful, always friendly, and approaches every question or concern with patience and a positive attitude. Her communication is outstanding; she responds to emails and calls promptly and always makes sure we feel informed and supported. Naomi goes above and beyond to make our experience smooth, stress-free, and truly enjoyable. We deeply appreciate her dedication, professionalism, and the warmth she brings to every interaction with us!

Great location, apartments and amenities are fine, maintenance is wonderful, but the management is horrible. Extremely rude and unhelpful office staff. When I moved in, the apartment had not been cleaned at all, carpets had mysterious stains, there were holes in doors, damaged flooring, no hot water, and everything was filthy. The leasing agent Kaylyn was rude when we asked for help placing dozens of maintenance requests because the apartment was genuinely in an unlivable condition. I have now lived here for 4-5 months and can confidently say that I have not went a single month without having major issues with the apartment, building, or billing. The office staff will roll their eyes at you when you ask about basic issues like not having hot water, keys not working, or the fire suppression

Apartments are nice, but be expect to be treated like an annoyance rather than a resident by management. I've had to call multiple times about a status update on my blinds being broken for 3 months now. Only to be brushed off by promising a call back that never comes. Their cookie cutter replies on reviews mean nothing when residents complain about issues and nothing ever gets fixed. The headache of dealing with management isn't worth the nice prices in my opinion. Would not recommend
