West 10 Apartments

You all want a real review? Here’s one. I lived at West 10 for 3 years and It’s been a couple of months since I’ve moved out. The quality of the complex has gone downhill ever since new property management took over. They don’t communicate with residents like the previous team did. For example, maintenance started working on the fire alarms at 10 a.m. one morning without any notice — I honestly thought the building was on fire. The Wi-Fi that residents pay for constantly cuts in and out, there’s visible mold in the ceiling, and the air filters are completely missing — causing terrible dust buildup. The gates rarely work (and my gate fob wasn’t even activated when I first got it), and they charge an extra $70 just for a parking decal. The roommate matching is also terrible — I’ve had four

If you can go anywhere else, please do not rent with any Collier Companies Properties. I have been living here for a couple of years. It’s overpriced for what you get. Utilities are sky high, the “gated community” you pay is never working. The amenities are not worth the cost. If you want to sleep before class, good luck. I’ve been complaining about a dog barking throughout the night FOR MONTHS now and all they do is give me a number for overnight security, all for overnight security to tell me they can’t do anything. If you have a consistent problem with the property PLEASE be aware it will not be fixed even when notifying property manager Kerri Sanders. Nothing will be done here. This place has gone down hill. The location of The Vertex Apartments is super convenient. It’s close to campus, shopping, and dining, which makes daily life easy. The property itself is well kept, and I’ve always felt safe and comfortable here. I would definitely recommend this community to others.

I moved into this complex awhile ago and I'm honestly quite disappointed. 1. The complex is advertised as a gated community, but the front gates are rarely closed, I could count on one hand how many times it has been closed since I moved in. 2. The furniture that came with the apartment was a bit rough.. most of it was fine but the couches are extremely uneven and uncomfortable, the bed mattress is hard and comparable to my dorm mattress. I do not think the quality of the furniture is worth the price I am paying for a furnished apartment. 3. The trash compactor is all the way outside of the complex- it is the only place to dispose of your trash and it is extremely far away from the buildings in the back of the complex. 2.5 Star: Living here is fantastic, BUT we were promised before moving that we could have any unwanted furniture removed. Then we were told to place said items in our living room. After it was not taken, we were told to put it in the breezeway. That was also ineffective, so we visited the office to speak to the staff and were told, “I’ll let maintenance know.” Funny enough, maintenance did arrive, but with threats of trash charges if it was not removed from the breezeway by EOD. Now here we are, 4 months in, receiving a $400 charge for placing the items on our patio. I spoke to an office manager, who told me she would talk sternly to the staff who misled us, but the $400 would stay until we removed the items. Renewing is unlikely because of this.
