The only reason you got 1 star is because no options for fractional or negative stars is available. Wessex seems to be run by the most incompetent people that you could ever associate with. THE ONLY TIME WESSEX SHOWS COMPETENCE IS WHEN COLLECTING RENT. MY PROPERTY WAS DAMAGED DUE TO NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF WESSEX MANAGEMENT. I HAVE A RECEPTIONIST WITH THE AUDACITY TO HANG UP A PHONE ON ME WHEN REQUESTING TO SPEAK TO MANAGEMENT AND LEGAL.

Repairs are often significantly delayed unless followed up on—sometimes multiple times. For example, in the kitchen, the linoleum flooring is peeling and continues to worsen with regular cleaning. Rather than replacing the damaged tile, the same piece was simply re-glued—even after a section broke off when I tripped on it while waiting for the repair. Unfortunately, the tile is beginning to lift again and the kitchen looks terrible. There are additional maintenance concerns I haven’t followed up on due to the extended response times. I try to prioritize and only pursue the more urgent matters, as I do not have the capacity to follow up on every issue. Horrible Supers at Felicia village in Irvington nj my ceiling had a crack in it because of what the supers were working on on top of the roof, this occurred in 2018 it is now 2023and nothing got fully repaired, my ceiling is full of drywall compound. Ulysses is a poor excuse for a super and his sidekick

Now let me tell you about our great super Mr Steve he keeps these 4 buildings in beautiful condition and he is so respected buy all renters. I lived in Wessex's Woodside Gardens apartments for 22 years. While there was a lot of turnover in the maintenance crew and the building itself is old, the pluses were the proximity to the NJ Transit train and Garden State Parkway plus the competitive price of the rent. My apt also came with a garage, which was a major benefit. When I recently advised the Wessex office I'd be moving, Daniel made the process easy. He provided a list of what I needed to do (remove window treatments/brackets, nails, top to bottom apt cleaning, etc). I followed the instructions, and got my security deposit back in one month from the time I vacated. I see many say they kept their security, but that was not my experience.
