They charge a convenience fee on the portal for every single payment method (including cash or check apparently). It doesn’t matter that it’s small change. And catch this: you can’t see the lease until you sign away the ability to get back your deposit: they sent me a commitment money form to sign that says I will give them the deposit to hold the house, only then can I see the lease, and that money only becomes security deposit if I sign the lease. Who is to say I will like the terms in that lease? Why am I not allowed to see it? I had to specifically ask for the lease multiple times and spanning several days before they showed me the actual lease I will sign. For proof, see the form and the text.
