I recently moved out of my townhome to purchase a home on August 5th. Currently having to locate a lwayer in order to get my security deposit back. The owner is unprofessional and condescending. He literally called me a liar in the most recent email regarding our meeting prior to my move on getting my security deposit returned. I have emails and substantial proof. His unprofessionalism dates back to 2023. When addressed directly with the concern he often responds " come in the office to meet". DO NOT ! GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING WITH THIS COMPANY!! ACTUALLY DO YOURSELF A SERVICE AND RENT FROM SOMEONE ELSE!

I stayed in my place for over 9 years. I started off with a private owner, then his son transferred all his stuff over to Virginia Commonwealth Realty, because the actual private owner passed make a long story short, I had foundation issues doors falling off the hinges dips in the hardwood floor kitchen tiles slipping bathtub leaning that the private owner knew about and never fix via him or Commonwealth RealtyI received an invoice saying i owe about 3000 in damages because of there neglect of fixing the house it was normal wear and tear I was there for almost 10 years and I had to make it work. They didn’t keep there maintenance up on their property. My advice to anyone please do an exit walk-through with the landlord. I learned.

I had not read the reviews before calling them about a rental but now I see it wasn’t just my imagination. The rep that answered the phone came across as snobby and insulted my intelligence to make it sound like I had not actually researched the property prior to calling. Oh, I look at property pics, location, bio over and over multiple times before I make a call. That is the only way I can ensure I know what to ask and to understand the answers so that I can follow up with informed questions should I have any. As soon as I hung up it put a bad taste in my mouth. I especially find it off putting for a real estate agent not to give a salutation when hanging up. Where do I begin….I’ve been a renter for the past 17 months and I really tried to put aside the google rating of this company prior to making my own judgement. I’ve experienced multiple situations with a very rude and disrespectful staff. Nothing that I’ve asked to be fixed has been fixed. Broken blinds are apparently not in the contract even though they’ve been stuck in the up position the day that I moved in with promises of them being fixed. The ice maker to my fridge has never worked but that too is also an item that they’re not contractually obligated to fix. And now I’m having multiple issues with my rent processing in their system! I had a leak under my bathroom sink close to the wall. When maintenance came out to repair the leak, I was told the leak was due to the pipe piece being over torqued which caused a crack. Same day Maint had the plumber come out because I had a 'slow' drain in the same sink. When checking the online portal to pay the monthly rent, I noticed I had a $100.00 charge back. I never received a call or an invoice from VCR about a charge. When calling VCR I was transferred 2 times, cut off in mid sentence only to then find out that because a plumber was called while maintenance was here to snake the drain and there was a hair clog, I was billed.
