University Place Apartments

No absolutely not. Don’t ever live here they will screw you over they turn off the water. The run on boiler system so you have no control over the heat or air and every summer it goes out at least twice. THE BUGS are crazy! They send “exterminators” but yet they don’t do nothing. It’s cramped. One time in the middle of the summer the air cut off and people were literally getting sick and everything they wouldn’t help at all. There was loose wiring in my apartment that kept shocking me. They never answer the office phone. There nails and broke glass on the parking spots the washing machines are flithy and don’t work along with the dryer. Management changes everytime. And they still do nothing.

We’ve absolutely had a horrible experience at this location. They’re extremely racist. The rent is never consistent. They tow cars that are registered and they never answer the phone. We asked for higher ups phone number they refuse to reveal the owners info. Our son is currently a student and tenant there and we’re extremely concerned about his safety. We feel as if retaliation is in the works. Can someone please provide the owners info so that we can express our concerns!

The management are buffoons. Ancient apartments that have not at all been kept up much less modernized. Wall outlets do not have grounds. Air conditioning, heating, hot water and water are unreliable; exterior walls and roof are in disrepair and rodents are in the attic spaces and walls. Despite a monthly charge for pest control the place is overrun with roaches, ants, silverfish and other pests. Maintenance and repair requests are ignored. On top of all this, my son moved out of this hell hole in May and paid in full through his lease end in July and in September is getting threatening e-mails and phone calls because his rent is overdue. Anyone would be better off pitching a tent that dealing with this place. Run away, run far far away.

I have lived here for about two years, my lease ends in about a month and it honestly couldn't end sooner. Denton Student Apartments is a failing business with a revolving door of management teams. In my two years here, we have had three different management teams, not a single competent team yet. My best advice, move anywhere but here. My air conditioning has worked probably 20% of my time here, I currently am on day 3 with no hot water. This new management team is extremely slow to set up, there's no way to leave a voicemail, they send emails but don't reply to them. The poor leasing agents have to take the brunt of the management from tenants because they're the ONLY ones you can get into contact with. !!!!!!AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! It's hotter inside these apartments than outside. There were constant promises of fixing the AC and the extreme roach infestation, but they never delivered despite having changed management 3 times in the year I stayed there. I submitted several maintenance requests for the AC and was eventually sent a mass email saying all further maintenance requests for the AC will be automatically deleted. The roaches were so severe I had to throw away half my furniture and all of my food despite having set off over 3 foggers. The management is an absolute joke. They send out emails that look as if they're threatening eviction just for it to be about renewing your lease. The manager herself is never present at Iconic Village so good luck talking to her.
