I left a review previously, and I can’t seem to find it! I once rented an apartment at a building in new Britain. I was promised two parking spots (thank god I kept it in writing) to the agent. I was then told I would only be given one spot, and that was my way out of the lease! Along with this inconvenience, I was made to stand outside of their building in east Hartford to ask for a parking pass to avoid being towed, to which they told me it would be temporary. They also had to have pest control go in as there was a pest problem. They were impossible to get a hold of once the lease was signed, and were terrible until the day I moved out. If I could give zero stars, I would. Working with Craig Potvin of UP Realty as listing agent for my parents’ home was disappointing and, at times, distressing. I’m sharing this to caution others—especially those dealing with emotionally charged situations like the illness and/or loss of a loved one. My mother was in hospice care with advanced dementia. My father was overwhelmed, trying to secure funds for her 24-hour care. My father signed a listing agreement with Craig during a difficult and emotional time—without my knowledge or involvement while I was in the household—leaving me concerned that my father may not be fully capable of making that decision alone. I had a VERY POOR interaction with this realtor in 2018, and yes, I am still bitter about it! He refused to list the property for the price I wanted, so I left. Then he called me a couple hours later to say someone was interested in it, but still said I couldn't get the price I wanted. He told me his commission would be 6%, but when he wrote up the contract he put 7% and then made some lame excuse. I would NOT recommend using this realtor at all. He was supposed to be representing me, but that wasn't the case.

Craig was wonderful, with both my sister and I living out of the immediate area, he was a God-sent. From the first time he met us at the house I felt he was absolutely honest and very knowledgeable. He was also very patient with me as I live in a very different real estate market. He was supportive even when strange things came up, upbeat that we would accomplish our goal and went the extra mile more than once. The community is very lucky to have Craig in this complex and nerve-racking business.

My Wife and I had used a competitor of Craig’s in the past ( 2015 ). To purchased land in 2015. Craig’s competitor was very untimely to respond to emails. And didn’t even show up to the closing as we sat waiting. My Wife said let’s use another Realtor. In comes Craig. Craig went beyond what you would expect from Realtor’s I’m so very happy we searched and found Craig. Thank You Craig. Kevin & Kim
