DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. They overcharge, are slow to respond to maintenance requests, and they pester you with the same questions several times as they cannot seem to keep a spreadsheet for information. We were promised that a renovation, ones they began working on before we moved in, would be completed while we were living there and they were not - the apartment was half-renovated and the job was mid at best... they painted over lights, did not sand cabinets before they painted them nor did they seal them so there was paint coming off on our dishes the entire time we were there. The new flooring was not properly glued down and was very very cheap, to the point that there were significant indents where you commonly stood (in front of the sink, in front of the oven, etc). The carpet

My experience at Twin Terrace Apartments was awful from start to finish. The apartment had many maintenance and hygiene issues. Most of the washers and dryers were broken most of the time, the bathroom had black mold, and the dishwasher smelled terrible and was never properly fixed. Whenever something broke, it took several days for maintenance to show up, if they even came at all. After moving out, I never received my $250 deposit, even though I cleaned the apartment and left it in good condition. I texted and emailed Josh Barnett and other staff at Portas Property Management for two months, but they ignored every message. It seems they deliberately avoid communication to keep people’s deposits. This company’s behavior feels like theft. The management is unprofessional, unresponsive, an

I don’t normally leave reviews but if I can stop even one person from moving here, it’ll be worth it. Do not rent with Josh Barnett or Portas Property Management. They are scammers and slum lords. When we first moved in, the place was given a bare minimum cleaning. They couldn’t even be bothered to do a check in with us and just gave us a key. The floors were sticky, there were stains and paint splatters everywhere, the cabinets and drawers had sawdust everywhere inside them, and the fridge was breaking apart. They consistently are emailing you with the same questions over and over because the management is constantly changing. Shortly after moving in, they tried telling us that we needed to move all our stuff out for three days so they could do renovations. They didn’t offer any accommoda

No stars but I can't post my review unless I give at least one star. Terrible management and since you pay all the rent upfront before you move in, they have zero incentive to repair and maintain the property. Checking out and getting a refund was a terrible process, my daughter was constantly ignored for someone to inspect her property which would release her deposit, which is my money. I found Braxton on site day of move-out, he told me it was left the cleanest he's ever seen and the deposit would be released asap. We are over that deadline and have received zero communication. I believe the owner or management company believes the young adult tenants will just let it go and they don't know their legal rights. I am in the real estate industry and I will hold them to the law...but don't

WARNING: Do NOT rent from Portas Property Management or Josh Barnett. My apartment is above the laundry room and got above 90° Farenheit on multiple occasions DURING THE WINTER. The air conditioning did not work. I asked them to fix it and they told me I wasn't allowed to use AC during the winter anyway because the pipes would freeze and refused to fix the issue. They told me to just "open a window." It was snowing outside. Now I see no other option but to move because if it is that hot in the middle of winter, I must assume that it will be dangerously hot in the summer. Heat stroke can occur at 104° Farenheit. Given that my apartment reached 90° when it was 20° outside, it seems inevitable that it will reach AT LEAST 104° during the summer when it is 90° outside. They have no concern for
