Purchased a house in September. The title company is responsible for making sure all tax information is correct and the proper money changes hands. If they mess that up, most title companies will assist in correcting the issue. Truly collected nearly $4,500 LESS on taxes from seller than was due because they didn't check to see if the outdated exemptions were still in place. When we brought up the discrepancy; they fought against it, saying they were correct. Even when letters from the tax authority were produced, they argued. When they finally accepted they had collected an insufficient amount, they outright refused to assist in any way in correcting the issue, simply sending snippets of the contract that stated any tax issues should be handled by the buyer and seller. Navette was the absolute worst to my clients she has no knowledge when it comes to escrow/title and gets upset and rude when clients ask questions. She was very disrespectful the whole transaction. Hopefully this will be a learning experience for both parties.
