We were fortunate enough to purchase our home in the completed phase of a Tommy Williams community; we watched months of delays unfold in the development of a new phase of the neighborhood where we had originally considered purchasing. We were told once this new phase was complete, a beautiful neighborhood, pool, community center, amenities would be constructed. We have heard several excuses since that time as to why the team has had delays with building, or even clearing the area where construction would occur. There seem to be no delays, however, with clearing the neighboring woods to begin building new homes for sale.

Finley Woods - Broken Promises - I will revise this review if conditions ever change in Finley Woods. UPDATE 2022-11 - STILL NO CLUBHOUSE! SHAME ON TWH! 2021-11 - Here is our story - We purchased a new home in Finley Woods six years ago with the understanding that a Community Clubhouse and Pool would be built within a year. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. The developer keeps making lame excuses and promises to start building these amenities soon, but they NEVER, NEVER follow through. I personally cannot trust the Developer to do what they say they are going to do. While Finley Woods is a really cool place to live, just don't expect the developer to provide the promised amenities anytime soon. Shame on them!!

Tommy Williams is the main home builder/developer for Finley Woods subdivision, a new community in SW Gainesville. While the homes are well-built and it's a great neighborhood, the developer has created a nightmare of broken promises. The worst of these unfulfilled promises is the six years of waiting for a pool and clubhouse that were advertised at the time we purchased in 2015-16. The barrage of ongoing excuses provided by the developer continue, with a new "promise" each year. Our annual "meetings" are staged and controlled so that little feedback is possible. My advice: RUN from any development proposed by Tommy Williams. Believe nothing.

If I could give a zero star rating, I would. We bought our home in a Tommy Williams community 6 years ago with the promise of a beautiful neighborhood, pool, community center, amenities to use within the year. Since purchase, year after year, Tommy Williams has given excuse after excuse, promise after promise of completion of amenities and development without an ounce of follow-through. This developer has one motive, $$$, and will tell buyers anything to make a sale, without intent on follow through. Stay far far away from this builder.

We live in the Finley Woods subdivision. It is a nice, quiet neighborhood with well-kept homes and I am satisfied with its over quality. UNFORTUNATELY, when we purchased our new house 4+ years ago, we were promised that the subdivision's amenities such as a community clubhouse and pool would soon begin construction. Three years ago at the annual HOA meeting, we were told that construction would not start until 80% of Phase 1C homes were sold. Guess what? That time came and went a while ago and now we were just told (AGAIN!) that they were not going to start building the club house and pool for another 8 months to a year from now. This is so wrong! I can no longer trust the developer to do what they say they will do, Should you?
