Consistently terrible experience through two management companies. Current management company is Cornerstone, who acquired the property during COVID-19. Kevin Goodman's first blast/message to current residents was a passive aggressive reminder to pay rent on time, or else! Dumpsters frequently so full that recycling is impossible (both Cornerstone and prior management have yet to solve this problem). See photos attached that Cornerstone keeps trying to remove, all of them are from different dates! Multiple dangerous burglaries and break-ins every summer/fall. People have had weapons pulled on them while walking near and inside the building. Will update once moved in after a couple months! I am moving to this property after an absolutely awful maintenance/construction situation with my last place. I have been under a great deal of stress dealing with getting out of my last lease and I just wanted a smooth transition to a new place. Doug toured this property for me with very little notice on a Saturday. He was thorough, honest and kind. I decided to select The Wheatley for my next apartment! So far, everything has been incredibly easy, even on my tight timeline. Leo has been prompt in getting paperwork to me and very responsive over email. Both Doug and Leo have been nothing but professional and helpful. I rented with Cornerstone years ago and felt pretty neutral about them. They have grown exponentially since then and it's cle
Edit: Life has been good but we do have quite a few issues. Parts in the apartment do break relatively frequently. We still have 2 problems that have yet to be fixed. The most recent one is our air conditioner being broken. Unfortunately we had to wait 4 days for it to be fixed. Our apartment was at 84 degrees even with two portable air conditioners. One of my rats died due to the heat so we had to stay somewhere else till Monday when they were able to fix it. We will be moving out by the end of our lease. Also downtown just sucks in general. Good luck parking.. Leo G. was an amazing help! He got us in to get the keys very quickly and was flexible with us. Among getting us really good parking spaces, he was sweet and funny. He loved my dog who was a very important part of the meeting XD.
8/12 A/C is fixed as the reply said. The only chief complaint was the handling of that A/C issue. In all fairness everything else about this apartment has been excellent. 8/10 It has been about three days without air conditioning. The apartment gave us some water coolers that don't really make a difference. We lost a pet due to this heat this morning and the aforementioned heat continues to worsen my medical condition.
Update, 11/8: Justin and Tony took care of an issue with our dryer, prompt and professional! Thanks again! Update: 9/6: Justin M, our new maintenance staffer, has been a huge help! Between introducing himself when he first arrived, to taking care of our backlog of items, he has made us feel that we are in good hands. Thank you, Justin! Update, 8/21: Our carpets have been cleaned, and an issue with the water heater was quickly resolved. Management has been working with us, and I hope things will continue this well. Original: It's been almost two weeks since we signed our lease, and we haven't been able to move in because our carpets haven't been cleaned! I have never heard back from Francisco, and Brandon promised cleaners that never showed. Help!
