The West End Apartments

Specific to Longfellow Towers: Update 3ish months later, February 2026: they’ve completely botched the handling of a power outage due to a manhole fire. The community manager, Lenny Dortch, absolutely refuses to take accountability for his total and repeated failures in leadership. Residents and pets have been kicked out of the apartment multiple times to “fix” the issue, only for them to walk it back and reschedule. The people that manage this property are totally and utterly incompetent — once again, like I said in my original review, only live here if it is absolutely your last resort. Original review from Fall 2025: There are 4 elevators in the building; expect that at least 1 of them, if not 2 or more, will be out of service at all times. Electricity bills have skyrocketed in this apartment, going upto $1000 during winters so definitely not worth that price! Elevators never work; there's no lighting in the main rooms, everyone needs to use their own lamps and the shared laundry machines are mostly broken or unhygenic with pet laundry mixed with regular laundry; laundry card comes at an additional price!

Nope. The fact that the elevators just happen to break about every 4 months (I've been here 5 years) tells you everything that you need to know about the quality of living that you'll enjoy. There's currently one available for a 350 unit building. Go elsewhere or verify that there's been a massive change in management. Oh, and they keep creating new business listings at the same address. Be sure to zoom in and find the real ones for actual reviews.

The good: Location can be quiet. There is construction in the area so some apartments likely suffer. Ours wasn’t too bad. The bad: They said they have a pool. What they mean is you can pay $400+ to use a pool at a location 10 minutes away. They advertised a theater room - wonderful! But not at our building. Another 10-minute walk. The Internet did not work when plugged into the wall. I was told that I would be responsible to pay for any work/troubleshooting to get the wiring IN THE WALL to work. Luckily I was able to trace the wiring issue to some incorrectly labelled and connected wires in the wall. Parking is outrageously expensive. It isn’t directly the apartment (at least on the surface - perhaps they are under the same company) but it was twice as much as other nearby apartments.
