Finally made the move downtown and I couldn’t be happier here! So far everything has been great and has even been a smooth move for my pets. I enjoy the location and the staff. Lorena, was so helpful with getting me ready for move-in and helping with any questions. Staff are always happy and ready/willing to help. I will update in a few months but this is my initial review. Also, I’m in love with my windows/views and just watch the world go by with my babies 💖

Admittedly I have been here less than a month and there is definitely a psychological phenomenon of a “honeymoon phase” as another reviewer put it when people first move into a residence but as a veteran renter (20 years+) I have to say that I am very impressed with The Strauss. I have an urban 1 bedroom and love the floor plan, especially how the sleeping area is separated from the rest of the unit by a sliding glass wall. It’s very large for something technically considered a studio (Over 600 sq.ft) with a large bathroom, in unit laundry, a well appointed kitchen with phenomenal storage, and as much natural light as the floor plan can allow. The bedroom has a large closet and additional storage is available on site. Expect a modern aesthetic with bright white walls, black cabinetry, a

The Strauss is awful. To start, Roaches are in many units; including my own. Several other tenants whom I have visited with have heavily infested problem. When I spoke to management, a solution was never offered nor has accountability been claimed. Certain tenants locked me and family members outside in courtyard adjacent to community room on second floor, I believe this man is the managers boyfriend as I see them together in office, and around the Strauss almost daily. We had to wait over an hour before someone came upon and let us inside. When I was expecting an important piece of mail delivered via private express mail courier, on delivery date mail was not found. I have email of the mail couriers confirmed delivery, including a photograph of said mail in his office (as per couriers co

It’s a nice place to live, it’s kept very clean but 1. The parking garage is insanely expensive and 2. The utilities are also outrageously expensive. I pay $1780 for rent, $300 for a spot in the garage and my utilities were $339 this month, not including my own electric bill. Most places I’ve rented are anywhere from $35-100 so I’m not sure why this is the case.

The spaces and amenities are nice, and appreciate the overall aesthetic. However, moving in was a total nightmare: getting a lease in a timely manner, pushing out my my move-in date a week after telling me it would be available, communicating with the leasing team and them not communicating with each other. In addition, it was not made very clear that I had to work with the city to get a permit for the area in front of the apartments. I was told that they were hoping a handicap space would be available in the garage for me to use, or that I could park my U-Haul on the sidewalk to unload - both illegal things… Hoping my living experience here isn’t this way.
