I love living here! I toured every apartment in the Conroe area and this one just felt right. The complex is cozy and quiet. I’ve never had any issues with parking or pests. The only down side would be my particular unit is very dark and lacking natural light which can be at times a little depressing. Proximity to HEB really comes in handy. Overall I’m happy here and would recommend anyone to these apartments.

We lived here for about a year and a half. The building quality was very poor. The walls and floors are extremely thin, and even normal noise like hanging something on the wall could be heard upstairs. When we moved out, they kept most of our deposit and charged us for things that felt unreasonable, including repainting the entire apartment after only a year and a half, replacing an entire stove because of a small crack in the stovetop, after they stated that we would not be charges for that, it was barely notions could’ve replaced the stove top, and even charging for light bulbs, that’s it their job. They are also very strict about vehicle registration. When mine expired during a time I had recently been laid off, they placed a large red warning sticker directly on my driver’s side windo

I’m writing this based on my actual experience living here. I lived on the second floor, and the walls are paper thin — you hear everything from your downstairs and upstairs neighbors, no matter what time of day it is. Forget about peace and quiet. Parking is a nightmare. You can rarely find a spot near your building, and on weekends it’s even worse — expect to walk far. And as far of the grounds, they have a big roach problem. At night you just see them crawling all over the building. They offer pest control, but it does NOTHING. I’m a clean person and the roaches still get in. Also the tenants do not pick up after their dogs. If you live on first floor people are so inconsiderate and let their dogs do their business right near their windows and patios and the smell is gross and upset

If I could give 6 stars, I would. My experience with the head manager, Kim has been nothing but amazing. She’s one of the kindest, most helpful people I’ve met here — always patient, and always willing to help. She’s even helped me with little things that weren’t part of her job, just because she genuinely cares. You can tell she actually likes what she does and takes pride in it. Every time I go to the office, she’s smiling, friendly, and makes sure everything gets handled. I’ve never felt “dismissed” or “forgotten” — quite the opposite, in fact. From what I’ve seen, Kim’s one of the reasons this place does run so well. She deserves way more credit than she receives.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The head manager, Kim, is the absolute worst thing about The Retreat at Conroe. She is rude, fake, and completely unfit to deal with people. The moment you sign your lease, her entire attitude changes—she goes from polite to condescending, dismissive, and downright nasty. Kim doesn’t see tenants as human beings. To her, you’re just a number—something to fill a quota and help her look good on paper. Once you’re moved in, you’re forgotten. She has no empathy, no professionalism, and zero accountability. She refuses to enforce the lease or handle real problems. When you report serious issues or safety concerns, she’ll make a phone call or two, then tell you she “doesn’t want to hear it anymore.” That’s not management—it’s pure negligence. Kim is an abso
