The entire place smells like way too much perfume, covering up way too much nastiness. You could walk in for less than five minutes and carry that cloying stench with you for the next several hours until you shower. If the place catches fire, will they even smell the smoke? This is ridiculous for anyone with a breathing or sinus issue. Good luck walking in. You will sneeze for the next hour or more. I'm not sure what this high-rise cesspool is trying to cover up besides shallow lack of ability to air out their building and run it as a business and not a "sleepover with your besties." A lack of care is more than prominent here, and if this is how you run this business, I'll be glad to keep my kids away from it once they graduate. What a waste of space. I adore The Palms! It is perfect for my small family of myself, my husband, and our puppy. I am a student and it is so close to UofSC making my commute a dream. The amenities are excellent with valet trash, a fully fenced in dog run for pets to romp around, a pool and outdoor seating area with games and a tv, and a super handy package room to make sure your items are safe and secure. This came in handy last Christmas when i was out of town and things were arriving from family. We always knew they were safe until we got home. The gym is also fully equipped for any workout you wish to do. It is mostly machines but there is a range of dumbells for some freeweight work. I have found it sufficient when the school gym is inconvenient or closed to replace my usual freeweight workout. The staff

If you want to live in the best location downtown, this is it! I moved to Columbia without knowing the area well at all, and couldn’t be happier with the apartment I chose. It is within walking distance of The Main Street District and The Vista, with events like Soda City Market right around the corner on weekends. The pool is a really relaxing place to hang out, always clean and never too packed. And Jackie, the leasing manager, is always super helpful and addresses any issues you may have promptly. Overall it’s a great place to live!

I really enjoyed my time at The Palms. Jackie and Hector make a good team of making your stay there as easy as they can (however I see in a recent review Jackie isn't there anymore!). The pool area is cute and the location is central to everything. The building itself comes with its own limitations. The layouts of the apartments are tight, narrow shoebox style for the 1 br. The floor to ceiling windows don't open, so if you want a natural breeze you have to leave the doors open. The windows also allow light to come in from the top. The units are too small for W/D units so they are in the basement, and they are pay per use. The machines need to be serviced or replaced. Since I have left the Palms I've noticed my clothes are much cleaner. Despite these limitations, I really enjoyed my time a
