I am a disabled applicant relocating from out of state using housing authority assistance, and the application process at Melrose was a masterclass in delay, deflection, and disregard for access requirements. My application was sent to the Harris County Housing Authority without providing unit-specific exterior or access-related information, despite repeated written requests. I specifically requested exterior views of the actual unit (yard, parking placement, surroundings) to assess accessibility. I just recently separated and was looking for a safe and healthy place for me and six year old special needs son to live and when I walked the property that's what this complex appeared to be. I signed my lease and within the first night, one of the next door neighbors started smoking indoors. I wrote Eduardo an email reminding him that I vocalized wanting a smoke free environment, which he agreed was important. I asked for something to be done and he said he'd remind the tenants about the no smoking policy. It took three days for said email to be sent out, but it didn't help. If anything the neighbors started smoking weed as well. I stopped by the other day to inquire about an apartment. As soon as I stepped into the leasing office, I was greeted with a warm hello. Sandra was super kind and helpful in showing me a couple of units and figuring out what would be best for my needs. The place is really cute, clean, quiet and I believe she said all of the units at that location were recently renovated. The surrounding area is nice, too, and feels safe.

If I could give them 0 starts I would. This is the worst ran property ever. Nothing gets fixed in a timely manner. My heat in a freeze took 4 days to fix. I am paying for pest control and have not once received it despite my calling for it every time. My A?C is now not working just weeks after it was supposed to be fixed!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
