Customer Reviews
The Lanes is a good find in general. I love the location, it's very peaceful and open, and also conveniently close to the LIC train hub. I love the amenities however, they're not very well kept. Most things are really worn down, or broken, and could certainly use a little love. Lastly, the administration is not very accommodating when it comes to solving issues. The AC didn't work all summer in the lobby and the gym, which makes it really hard to use, the gym is pretty run down as well, and the elevator brakes often for several days. They never make any kind of concessions for such things which are pretty inconvenient. The staff who work in the building, on the other hand, is really lovely and helpful and super friendly :)
I have rented a two bedroom apartment here for 1.5 years. There are a lot of amenities in the building which was great for my teenager to keep busy when he visited over the weekends. Awesome that they were free too which is why I chose this building. I am relocating up state and will no longer be staying as much as I wanted to. Everything in the building was great, I just wished there was storage in the building (at least for rent) because I am in the fashion industry.
Ended my lease in Manhattan at the peak of the pandemic and got a furnished one bedroom apartment here for short term. Super cool building and really appreciate that management kept all the amenities opened. Now that the city is returning to normal, I'm moving back into Manhattan. I do think management or the staff should enforce other tenants to wear face masks in the INDOOR common spaces though. Other than that, super chill experience and working from home was great. Many amenities to choose to work from.
I have lived here almost a year and there has been issues since about the 2nd or 3rd month when management switched over. They have been charging the Incorrect rent and now sending another bill for an outstanding balance. The new management doesn’t even have my lease on file and don’t know how to fix the situation that they caused. It’s a nice building but thats it. Management is horrible. Go somewhere else.
The Lanes was a decent building before Common took over as management. Incorrect rent charges directly to your bank account (which is illegal, regardless) , loud parties at all hours of the night, and stolen packages are common. I moved out and am now having to file a complaint with the AG to get my overdue security deposit back, as they have ignored every attempt I have made to get in contact with them.
