The Ellipse

I moved into the Ellipse townhouses in 2020 and called it my home for three years. I had a very good experience with the original management and really enjoyed my beautiful home. A couple of months before I moved out, the new owner/ management came in, and one of my payments was not found after the transfer of information. I showed proof of payment from my end (Always keep your electronic receipts.) and was told I would be refunded. It has been a year, and I still have not been refunded for the double charge for rent I paid. Very disappointing. I really liked the on-site staff. There are beautiful trails nearby. Lots of smoking by residents, though not permitted.

Just switched management companies a few months ago so there's a new staff in the office. 5 stars because the property manager Sheila is such an understanding person and seems genuinely committed to doing right by the residents. She goes above and beyond to be kind and helpful. The other staff member I met was also very nice. When the apartments were managed by Thistle, they had a lot of staffing and communication issues - I'm really impressed with the turnaround though. (The maintenance people have always been great though) I've lived here for about 1.5 years. It's an affordable housing complex so you have to qualify as low-income. (The complex that shares the lot with us is market-price and under a different name)

The new management has gone above and beyond what was here before. Sheila is particularly helpful, kind, and cares genuinely about her tenants. In the short few months I've known her, she's been more helpful and involved on a personal level than in the past 5 years dealing with Thistle. I would highly recommend working with her as a property manager. I can't speak to the Ellipse apartments directly, as I lived in the Lumine Apartments, but Sheila is great!

Probably has to be one of the worst places that I have lived, since I have lived her which has been almost two years now I have had an issue with one of my neighbors and I am not the only one to have a complaint about them. I have tried to report it and made me sound crazy or like I was being annoying by the office management then they assured me that they would fix the problem but never did anything about it. There is lack of communication and organization in the office from the beginning. I will say the communication got a little better after new management but still not great. There is always something wrong with the appliances which is why I decided to move here was because of them. My ice machine has been broken since July and no one has came to even look at it. I applied for my family and it was like pulling teeth to get any response from this property management. I prequalified for my family, but once I had my application in, i didn't hear anything for 3 weeks, but was reassured by office staff that my application was fine and they just needed to finish the paperwork. After 4 weeks of stringing us along, they said we were a few dollars over the income limit. They refused to take into account that we had some overtime because there were many people on leave of absence, and things have gone back to normal, meaning labor hours are now cut. My impression is they really don't care, now with only a couple weeks before our lease is done, there are no affordable apartments available for us, now we have no place to live, and this company really could
