The Elle on Lockwood

I lived here for about a year in 2023-24, ultimately leaving because of the problems that NEW MANAGEMENT caused. For a time, to my understanding, it was operated solely by one man. Even when I moved out, he failed to arrive to inspection in the allotted time bracket that was set. My moving van had gone by then, and I had to go, only to get a call from my new residence and hour away telling me i needed to return (I didn’t, so drop off your keys and run) In the beginning they promised us valet trash, cleanly personal gym access, and upkeep of each floor. That was not the case, often pet accidents would go unclean for weeks to months, making an entire floor smell like pee. I hesitated to post this for almost four years at this point, but I'm hoping that by doing so now, I can help prevent others from possibly ruining their health by choosing to live here. I only lived at the Elle for a short amount of time because it was a never-ending nightmare of issues (including water leaking into my apartment whenever it rained and maintenance "fixing" the problem by painting over the growing mold time and time again until construction actually fixed the issue, the apartment reeking of fresh paint and new carpet the entire time I lived there no matter how often I opened all windows and used an air filter, the dishwasher constantly breaking, maintenance leaving my door unlocked after a visit, etc) and they allowed me to break my lease early. I love The Elle on Lockwood! From the modern interior design to the Webster Groves location - you really can't go wrong. The amenities are impeccable and the leasing staff is amazing. If comfort and community are things you value in a home, then The Elle is for you. 10/10 would recommend.

This might be one of the best small apartment complexes in the St Louis area. Modern, clean, high ceilings, spacious, good soundproof and insulated windows. Quiet and wonderful area, right in the between Old and New Webster Groves. Easy commute. There is an electric car charging station in the parking lot; however, 50% of time it is out of service due to the providers. Still, when it is working, it makes life easier. I have enjoyed living in The Elle and highly recommend.

NEW MANAGEMENT: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I lived at this property for almost 2 years and was looking into renewing. I went online to check pricing and found my exact floor plan for around $400/cheaper a month. Of course, I called management and said I'll take that unit and price and do a lease transfer. The manager told me "Let me look into that and I'll get back to you". He then went and leased the available apartment and called me back after doing so to tell me there was some "confusion" and acted as if the unit "accidentally" got signed during the time of him looking into it and I wouldn't be able to get that price. Of course, this was a lie and was strategically planned on his part to keep a higher rate locked in on my unit. I moved out a month later and my exact unit is now available again
