The Commons Apartments

Severely Overpriced for probably one of the smallest apartments I’ve ever lived in, which is saying a lot since it was a 2bd1ba. Management was mediocre at best. Property was well maintained but we had a lot of issues with the neighbors being loud and causing trouble. One of the best pros is that it is located right near the Pruneyard which was nice since it is walking distance.

The community at The Commons is nice, but my experience with the leasing office, particularly the application team, was disappointing. The initial leasing staff member I spoke with was very helpful and proactive in finding available units and coordinating move-in details. However, once my application was transferred to the application team, communication became extremely difficult. During the application process, I encountered system errors and reached out multiple times by phone, text, and email for assistance but received no response. Since there is no on-site office, it was very difficult to get in touch with anyone, and the team was often unavailable during business hours. This made it frustrating to resolve even simple issues. Management and the leasing office are a pain to deal with and show very little respect for tenants. They are extremely difficult to communicate with and often come across as dismissive. While the place itself is quiet and nice, the team behind the leasing office—just as many other reviews mention—is not helpful at all.

Pros: The apartment and complex itself is quite nice and the facilities team is on top of things. The place was well maintained while we were there. Great location and ease of access. So many places within walking distance. Essex has been buying up a lot of properties around Campbell and then these properties subsequently have maintenance issues due to cost cutting but this wasn't something we had to navigate here, thankfully. Cons: The leasing office can be very hard to get in touch with, rents increase every year, double check your documents — they were double charging us for something, good luck getting your security deposit back — they'll say everything is fine during the moving inspection and then charge you for random things long after you leave. tldr: nice apartment, nice on-site

If you’re looking for the ultimate workout disguised as “housing,” look no further! This place is basically a CrossFit gym with rent attached. Forget elevators—why would anyone want modern conveniences like that? Here, you get three glorious floors of narrow, uneven staircases that will make sure you never skip leg day again. Wheelchair accessible? Ha! Don’t make me laugh. Infrastructure for disabled people is a foreign concept here—apparently, inclusivity didn’t make it into the budget. And delivery drivers with carts? Poor souls. Watching them drag groceries or furniture up endless stairs without ramps is like witnessing a live reenactment of American Ninja Warrior. So, if you’ve always dreamed of hauling everything you own up and down rickety stairs while feeling guilty for anyone in
