The Berkshire Apartments

We spent six years living in this apartment. We selected this apartment because it's close to our work place. It's in a great location with food stores, restaurants, and other amenities close by. The apartment is very spacious. The rent includes utilities and is less expensive than other apartments in the downtown area. They have very good gym facilities. We have to admit that their staff members are really friendly, supportive, and they always fixed the issue when we submitted a service request. Recently, they began remodeling the communal areas. Being an older structure, we faced a major issue with roach and rodent infestation. Five stars for Lisette, the building manager! She is so sweet and incredibly helpful. She’s always kind and truly cares about the residents. It’s such a relief to have someone so caring and professional managing the building she really goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly.

This is by far the worst company I’ve ever rented in Richmond! I’ve been living here for 4 months now and I can’t even open my windows cause they’re all sealed cause the glass is broken. And after asking 20 different times about it they keep saying they’re “working on it”. I haven’t been able to get fresh air since I moved here. The building has a roach infestation and they haven’t even send someone to check it out. During a storm I had some leaking on my bedroom ceiling and it took them 2 WEEKS and only came the third time I asked them to. Every time I have to ask them to make my apartment straight cause something is not working or something is not right I have to keep asking and asking and pushing and they still don’t do anything about it. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else

Very good customer service , had no questions left when inquiring about building or location. This is close to the city and love the view from the rooftop. No issues on my end. Young lady who manages has a great listening ear and problem solving skills.

I am very happy with my experience here. Every issue that has been ran into has been resolved by the great maintenance staff. Some of them live in the building too so if that is any indication I think it speaks well. Yes it is an old building so there are some things to be expected, but for the amount you are paying and the fact that they will fix the problems is very nice. The windows in the space are huge, water and electricity is included in the rent, and they’ve been updating the common spaces recently too which is nice. I would recommend this apartment to people.
